new series of laws and regulations... aimed at stopping attacks in europe - before they happen. de maiziere says: translated "the three elements are first the number and organization of our security authorities, second, prevention and integration and third, determination and rigor against those who break the law, those who endanger and support radicalization." but critics say many of the proposed measures go too far... they include faster deportations, longer detentions, and the breaching of doctor-patient certain cases. france and germany are also working together on a plan to overcome the use of encrypted networks... by increasing domestic surveillance. cazeneueve says: translated "this is a key issue in the anti-terror action because much of the information exchange among terrorists is encrypted, which makes it difficult to launch intelligence operations." others are saying the laws don't go far enough... with right-wing parties calling for a tougher approach - including a ban on full-body burkas worn by some muslim women. but officials in both countries say

the good news -- according to the department of transportation-- the zoo interchange reconstruction remains on-schedule. the not-quite-as-good-but-necessary news -- a significant ramp closure is coming, within days. justin williams shares more details for drivers. 112-125while it may sound small, this is one of the lightest

of this zoo interchange system ramp is a big deal. that's 7,000 people, a day, that are going to have to find a different route. we'll get to that, in a moment. first, wisconsin department of transportation spokesman ryan luck, delivers the details. on monday, august 15th, we're gonna be closing eastbound 94, to northbound 41, long-term, until spring of 2017. then, the southeast freeways construction chief describes the detours. highway 100, northbound is the closest to the interchg the primary route. you head north, up to bluemound, and rejoin, at the watertown plank interchange. also, highway 164, west of the zoo, is also a good, alternate route. so, you can get off, and then take 164, to capitol, and come in, north, on 41. drivers are not alone, in being made aware, as the d-o-t has notified the neighbors -- including the milwaukee regional medical complex, which, in turn, posts information on its website. all of the people that are very

it was in this area a little more than a year ago a young man was walking home. he was killed in a robbery. milwaukee police are asking for your help in an exclusive interview. thats new tonight at 6. here we are again, on the eve of the packers first preseason game. almost a week ago we were in a similar position as the packers were after poor field conditions that game was cancelled. so the packers enjoyed a trip to canton only to come back without the experience of a game. that meant getting back to work and looking towards tomorrow's game against the browns, one in which the field should be safe to play on as the game is at lambeau field. don't expect to see aaron rodgers play, but do look for many of the rookies and other players fighting for a roster spot to get the most playing time. which makes it a perfect opportunity for punter and green bay native peter mortell. pulled 19-year-old stephen rogata of great falls, virginia, into the building after he reached the 21st floor. they had been trying to isolate him for nearly three hours. police say rogata posted a you-tube video before the climb ... saying he wanted to have a personal meeting with trump. two people are dead and dozens more injured after an explosion started a massive fire at a silver spring, maryland apartment complex. fire still missing. officials believe natural gas contributed to the explosion and the fire. more than 150 firefighters responded to the scene. the drug enforcement administration is announcing today it will not approve the use of marijuana for medical use -- despite it being legal in half the country. the agency says its therapeutic value has not been scientifically proven. 25 states have passed laws allowing medical use for

a new study finds venus once may have had an earth-like atmosphere. according to nasa scientists, the planet might have been able to sustain life in the distant past. and, it may have been habitable for up to much different on venus now. it has a carbon dioxide atmosphere 90 times as thick as earth's, there's no water vapor and temperatures on its surface reach 864 degrees. this cat at a shelter in pennsylvania is all ears. take a close look.... this furry feline has four ears! he's been appropriately named

special trip to the ballpark today. they were taking part in the 12th annual safe summer brewers game at miller park. mayor barrett hosted the event, which gave students a free ticket to the game, and even some ballpark snacks, like hot dogs. one of the students even got to throw out the first pitch! the game is a reward for students who are involved in a wide variety of summer programs

throughout the city. the brewers community foundation donated all of the tickets for the event. open police are hoping your tips can put a charge in a murder investigation that has gone cold. it's now been more than a year since a milwaukee teen was gunned down a.j. bayatpour had an exclusive interview with one of the detectives on the case. he's in the studio with the details... angelo young's stepfather says the 18-year-old was just weeks away from enrolling at u-w-m. he also dreamed of enlisting in the air force. instead, he was killed in a robbery. police say they want you to keep an eye out for a couple different things...

it's one of the last intersections angelo young had to pass on his way home late last july. police believe multiple suspects tried to rob the teen. it ended with thieves killing the 18-year- old rufus king graduate. what strikes you with this case is that it was a subject who did not have that prior connection to any crimes or criminal aspect of his life. matthew gadzalinksi is one of the detectives looking for young's killer. he says the robbers took a distinctive backpack from young. it's an element brand "tigerleaf" design. gadzalinski also says surveillance vieo the shooting shows the vehicle they believe the suspects were driving. a late-90s chevy suburban-style vehicle, dark in color, that emitted some very loud type of noise whether it was muffler or engine noise. two weeks ago, young's stepfather is among the relatives at a 'stop the violence' basketball tournament played in honor of young and other homicide victims. you never think this would happen to individuals like that - especially so young with such a promising future. both demetrius rice, and the detective, believe
